Trust me, they are worth a fortune if they are in top shape. A buddy at work kept his cards from the 50's, and one day he investigated, and discovered they were worth tens of thousands of dollars. He had enough that he started a business in sports memorabilia. Just one of those old cards was worth a thousand dollars at that time.

If they are beat up or moldy, they aren't worth very much, of course. His were all in individual plastic holders.

Beckett Magazines, ebay. The most important thing is condition. If they were kept badly they probably aren't in good condition which greatly decreases the value. Beckett.com can give you the rules for grading the cards which can help in trying to assess the value.

They are your Husbands they belonged to his Grandfather have some Respect if & when he dies then you can check them out.My Husband has cards that belonged to His Mom & Grandpa as well they are in a box that he doesn't touch either it doesn't bother me.They can stay right where they are if anything happened to him then I'd either check out a Pawn Shop or give them to My son or Nephews.Good Luck

First of all you shouldn't even be considering to see how much they are worth. It's a man thing. If you have kids or are planning to have kids, he may be considering to pass them onto his son, and his son after that. If you are going to do anything with those cards, best to make sure you have his consent. After that, BOTH of you can go and see how much they're worth.

beckett... but i would wait if I were you. They be more of a sentimental value to him. He may not be a serious collector, but may just keep it to remember his grandpa. So, let him make the call.

the library and book stores have books on pricing collectable cards...but it would be better and easier to take them down to a sports/ comic book store where they carry sports cards.
