First - don't sweat it...see what happens come game time.
Another QB gives you a breather and helps you collect yourself after a good hit.
Just because a qb can throw farther...doesn't mean he will accomplish that in the game.
YOU STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW
You got the game,
you lead your players,
you know the plays,
and YOU have the composure in the game...
keep your cool and NEVER let 'em see you sweat.

Don't just lift weights. Create an organized way to make yourself stronger and faster. Keep a log. Quit the team if you have to and spend sometime thinking about where you want to take your game. I personally recommend Ross Enamait's books. Just spend a month doing following one of his guides and you'll see the difference. Go for as long as you like, then rejoin the team next year once you have a fairly stable and constant improvement-based exercise regime. I don't know how much football training you do but if it's less than 3 hours. You can spend an additional hours maybe in the morning improving your game. But throwing is not the only thing you should be concerned with when it comes to football. Improve other areas of your game too if you want to stay ahead. There is always more than one new guy.

When you are in throwing stance ,thumb on the threads, second finger on the point, bend your knees slightly,if right handed, use your left hand for direction, and point, stay loose, bend your back slightly, and then let it rip,try it and edit your question and let me know how it went ..
You get better speed and accuracy..Watch some old films of Dan Marino, in my opinion he is the best throwing quarterback of all time.
Do not make the mistake of holding the ball too close to the middle, hold the ball closer to the end where your second finger is aiming the ball and your thumb on the strings will balance the ball.and cause a spiral also.

don't listen to any of these chumps. don't worry about throwing farther. If you can keep the defense guessing, and do what you have done the whole time, and you'll be fine. don't forget to relax in the pocket

At 15: If I just heave it up, about 35 yards. Accurately, about 30 yards. On the run, about 35 yards. Accurately, about 25 yards.

You're still young and your arm will develop, but lifting weights might help.
