I think you've gotten it backwards. There are two contributors to economic growth, increasing numbers of the workforce and increasing productivity. Increase in productivity is a direct consequence of economic and human development (emergence of new, more capital-intensive industries and better education and healthcare allow people to be more productive). So growth is a consequence of development, not the other way around...

It's arguably the same thing as economic development.

Human development is another matter. Human beings need a lot more than goods and services (e.g. love).

growth yes, wealth distrbuiton inequites are based on politics and in all forms of -isms (capital, social or marx), is concentrated in the the hands of a few and they do get rch.
