i really like this guy a lot and we've even talked about hooking up but now he says he has a girlfriend but i find it kinda hard to believe or at least i dont want it to be true, should i confront him and tell him how i feel about him ask him why we never hooked up? what should i do? we've known each other 3 years and hit it off really well then all the sudden it's like everything went down the drain.. we still talk and everything but it just doesn't seem the same..

If he says he has a girlfriend, that may be his way of trying to tell you that he isn't interested. It may be hard for him because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings because you've been friends for 3 years.

I think he already knows how you feel (you've talked about hooking up) so I don't think I'd go there.

I also wouldn't ask him why you never hooked up. There are no answers that are going to make you feel better.

I would cut my losses now. Sorry! :-(

I hope I considered a 'girl' even though I'm 59 years old!
But I might think that after 3 years of talking about hooking up that this guy was shy and waiting for you to make the plans to hook up! Could be that while you were snoozing he found someone who figured that out and actually hooked up with him...I wouldn't do anything. See how long he's with this girl and if he breaks it off with her then go for it and YOU be the one to 'hook up' with him. don't wait for him this time...good luck

your still safe atleast you both didn't have any intimate exchange yet.( or have you?) But above all else..3 years, Im sure you still have him as a friend..Be happy for him and it's good that you know now and not another 3 years..Now you can move on to the next chapter on your book...it's always hard at first but keep yourself busy and maybe you'll even meet someone new. Good_Luck!

if he has a girlfriend obviously dont hook up with him.. tell him how you feel...if hes insensitive when you tell him your true feelings then hes not worth even being a friend. hell be sensiive and nice and caring if e cares and in that case keep in touch with him until he doesnt have a girlfriend

oh and dont just "hook up" with someone youve known for that long because you want more than just a hookup even if you tell yourself you dont. if you wanna hook up wth someone, find someone that you dont know as well and is hott.

You should tell him how you feel about him and like talk about your feelings and being in a relationship together.

He changed his mind. Let him go and find someone who appreciates you (and you him).
