PARENTAL RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 13 yr. old and I go through EVERYTHING she owns! I put clothes on her back, food in her stomach, and I am responsible for her every move. She lives in my house and uses my computer so I have every right to know what she is doing at ALL times. That is whats wrong with half the kids in this world these days. Mom & Dad are either doing bad stuff them selves or they are to busy in their own lives to care what their children are doing. People have stopped being parents this day in time. It is SO sad!!!

i think its a total invasion of privacy because i love myspace and if i had a daughter and she wanted it i would let her dont limit her and dont spy on her if you think shes responsible enough to use the computer wisely then trust her but if ur worried u should try it for some time and see what places shes goin to if they are bad then have a talk with her if they arent then dont spy and take the program out. :-)

Its your parental right to check up on what your kids are doing. You should always be aware of what your child/children are up to. I especially believe this is true when it comes to the internet. There are alot of perverts out there, spying and preying on not only kids but also adults. It is my strong belief that as parents we must protect our children at all cost!!

I think parents should just let their kids be. If my parents did it and I found out I would be furious!! We want to explore and discover and search for new things! Give us the opportunity to do so. There will be a time where you will go into weird websites, but then there will be others where you find valuable info!!
Do not get that thing!!

Absolutely the right and obligation of a parent. The internet can be a very dangerous place for children especially teens. I think that you should make every attempt to keep them safe on the internet just like you would at the mall.

A parental right -- definitely -- and as a Single Parent -- a necessity. I didn't want my teenagers bringing problems to my doorstep because they were too immature to make proper decisions and let personal information out on the net. So this is a SAFETY ISSUE for me.

I absolutely think it is your right. I have one on my computer and it helps me see what is going on in my teenagers head. I am able to start up conversations with her on topics that I have seen her discuss with her friends that I am concerned about. I wouldn't trade it for anything! I have also learned that I can trust my daughter more than what I thought. I fully recommend it. I think as far as privacy goes, as long as they are in my home until they are 18 or move out..........NOTHING'S PRIVATE!! It is your responsibility as a parent to help keep your kids safe and guide them in the direction they need to go, and all of us need all the help we can get. If she finds out later, then so be it, I hope that one day she will do the same for her daughter.

invasion of privacy because you have a right not to be watched secretly.
but its also up to your parents. if you are off having sex and they worry about you, then id do the same thing and moniter my child after a severe talk.

Parental right. Who bought the computer? Who is responsible for anything your child is doing? Who is concerned for their child's welfare and well-being?
If you answered ME to any of these questions- your answer is Parental right. I mean out of concern and care, not from a dictator standpoint.
