I am doing a project on the colonial house. Did they have running water, sink, and bathroom back then? If they did, how did they look lile?

only the very rich ones did. as for looks, it's pretty hard to describe. i know they had bath-tubs raised on 4 claws & the john worked by pulling a chain.

Running water? No way. They drew water from the well. When they were finished with it, they threw it out the window. No such thing as "down the drain."

Sink? They poured water into a large bowl to wash or shave. To get water warm, they heated it in a kettle on the stove (which burned wood) or in the fireplace.

Bathroom? Are you kidding? They used an outhouse during the day, and a chamber pot at night. (You pee in the pot, then slide it under the bed. You dump it outside the next morning, but not too close to the well.)

You may not believe it, but some people still live like this today!

Also, the colonists did not have electricity. They used candles or oil lamps.

I'm pretty sure they didn't have indoor plumbing back then. They probably had some sort of outhouse to do their "business" in.

Do you mean a colonial-style house, or what a colonist might have had in the 1700s?
