12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard, so:

12 inches/foot * 3 feet/yard = 36 inches/yard.

The answer is:
36 inches in a (linear) yard.

Don't let the term "linear" yard confuse you. It's the same thing as yard and is just there to distinguish it from square yards or cubic yards. Mostly we just say a yard or a foot rather than a linear yard or a linear foot.

How much does a used car cost?? There are so many factors, it is impossible to give a price over the phone !!! on a small room , I have worked three days gutting rebuilding, prepping and installing 60 square feet for a labour cost of 600$... I have also installed empty large autitoriums for fifty cents /foot, and still supplied adhesives !! You need a flooring mechanic quote...and throw the cheapest one away!!
