The plant should blossom and set fruit between July 1 and 20.
8 to 10 weeks after seed starting, the first female flowers will appear. They're easy to distinguish because they have a small pumpkin at their base. Be careful with the Vines, because pumpkins may still abort at this time, or you may injure the fragile stem.

To avoid rampant crossing vine growth, it is advisable to trim and prune. Generally 3 to 5 primary vines are allowed to grow out from the center of the plant in different directions. Prune each main vine when it has reached 10' to 12' beyond a set fruit. Bury the ends of cut vines to reduce water loss. Some Pumpkins will be ready for harvesting in September, others take longer.

Pumpkins are a fall producing crop. If you have a large plant with blossoms you will begin to see small pumpkins growing soon. Do not prune the plant, but you may want to watch to be sure that no pumpkins are growing too close together. If they are, remove the smallest ones so that the bigger ones will grow even bigger. Be patient, pumpkins will not usually be ready until early to mid October depending on the growing season you live in.

patience. you still have 60 days til Halloween. pruning back some growing points may encourage fruit production. they may be lonely. maybe bring in some potted nasturtiums to hang out with the pumpkins. planting some radish in and around your patch may also help. and never under estimate merely asking the pumpkins if there is anything they need and be open (very open) for answers to come to you in different ways. You can also just tell them that you are looking forward to enjoying their fruits and that you love them very much. I know this may sound silly to the contemporary ear, but plants are indeed sentient beings and will respond to questions and conversation.
