a physical reaction happens to an object, a chemical reaction changes the composition of the substance. Getting hit with a ball is a physical reaction. neither you nor the ball change what they are. Adding vinegar to baking soda is a chemical reaction. It changes both substances to a new one. The fizzy mush you get is now neither vinegar nor soda. A compound is when two elements bond together: Salt for example, NaCl : Sodium bonded to chlorine... Water: H2O Two hydrogen atoms bonded to an oxygen. A homogenous mixture is a mixture or solution where two compunds maintaing their individual essence. Salt dissolves in water. You can taste the salt, and drink the water: a homogenous mixture. Oh wow.. check out this link I found.... good luck on your test :)
