Marriage is a religious sacrament. Religiously, homosexuality is forbidden.
Should homosexuals wish to obtain rights that the State/ Government associate with marriage, they are able to do so through other legal documents such as "Durable Power of Attorney of Health" and "Durable Power of Attorney for Finances". Additionally, should they wish to have their partner handle their burial or estate after death, they can do so by getting a proper "Last Will and Testament". However, it seems that they want the 'Hands off approach' of just documenting that they're married to get these rights ... however, even the married couples (male and female) are smart enough to support important decisions with these existing documents instead of letting things go to chance.
Therefore, it is my opinion that since the rights homosexuals are seeking through marriage are obtainable through existing legal documents, the real goal behind passing a 'Gay marriage' law is to belittle religion and it's sacraments.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"1601 "The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.""
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. 2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

When do You need this by because I can get you a copy of the one I just did and it was gay rights and one of the topics was gay marriage, children, and don't ask don't tell policy... I will send it later this afternoon if thats okay? However why I am here let me educate some of morons Merriam Webster defines Marriage as a 1.a.the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc. b.a similar institution involving partners of the same gender: gay marriage. here is my intro for a paper I did years ago on just gay marriage Freedom is defined as the power to determine action without restraint, yet today in America where we are home of the brave and land of the free it seems that freedom has a whole new definition the power to determine action with certain restrictions. In the land of the free you are supposed to be able to freely choose things such as the person you choose to marry, the life you lead as long as what you do and how you choose to do it does not harm anyone in the process. Gay marriage does not harm anyone nor has it caused pain and suffering on any living organism within our supposedly great nation. Most people in America would agree that equality should be shared among all Americans because we are all the same, that no one person should be treated any different because the size shape or even color of their skin. In today's society being a gay or lesbian individual makes one a second class citizen and even looked at in some ways as a lower form of life as a human being because that person is different. What happened to liberty and justice for all! There is nothing wrong with a marriage between two men or two women it harms no one nor does it mean that they will raise gay childern or that it will ruin the sanctity of a "real" couple that is married in fact it helps better some people and establishes that we really are a better country that stands behind what we say when we say liberty and justice for all. In my heart that should mean that everyone should be allotted the same civil rights as everyone else.

Suggestion : Pick a subject that you know something about next time or have a vague idea about why you disagree with something so much you want to write a thesis about it. I can't help you because gay marriage doesn't put me up or down. I really don't care and neither do you obviously.

all right all right
i am the queen of writing papers
altho ur topic would be easy on supporting it..we can so sumthing
it wont have a very strong premis but we can do sumthing to get u an A. Hard topic
First u need to narrow down your topic
so u oppose gay marriage..
Ask ur self WHY?
the first reason that comes up in ur head will be the basis of ur thesis statement
For Example:
lets say because it is immoral and unnatural.
better yet, lets say its just unnatural.
still its a little broad, we need to NARROW it down sum more..
ok its unnatural becasue of what?
THINK.
Because humans are suppose to reproduce to survive.
OKAY
There u go.
and Gay marriage would encourage and influence that
So ur thesis statement could sound like this
Gay marriage opens the door to a new unnatural purpose that could detrimentally influence the fragile generations to come.
and then ur 3 sub claims would be
because its unnatural and humans are suppose to reproduce to survive..increase of gay marriages could influence more to appeal to this lifestyle
maybe the Constitution of this country is based on the Bible and has sum influence on principles...this could contribute to discredit and a wobbly view of the Constitution (altho in my opinion, i dont think they even kno what a bible is anymore)
and i have to go now i cant give u a 3rd subclaim because i got to do my work now..i just saw the clock...
just THINK about ur thesis..
How gay marriage would affect generations to come....okay
hope u think of sumthing!
u dont have to use my example

I do not believe in gay marriage because I am a married Christian male.
I don't believe in gay bashing though, because of my Christianity
I believe that all are sinners, I don't mean gays, I mean everybody and come short of the glory of God.
I really am in favor of men marrying women though.
I know some gay people , but I am on the same terms with them as everybody else.
