Yes. As long as you let them know your intentions you can date whomever you like. There are no rules saying that if you start dating a person you can't date anyone else in the beginning. You have every right to date and be selective as long as you are not doing something hurtful.
In any relationship, by a few weeks you need to state your intentions. Then, nobody should be surprised or hurt. I would ask them what they want out of the relationship. Then, tell them what you want.
You can say (if true) I am dating right now, but I hope to settle with one person at some point.
Just because someone likes you doesn't mean they get to decide for you that you can't date anyone else. You need to date a lot of people before you find the right one, so you shouldn't limit yourself. Just be honest about it. If they can't take it, it's really not your problem. It's theirs.

You can date more than one girl as long as you both agree. It's not making a commitment to anyone until your both ready to. A lot of people are just looking for casual dating,nothing to serious. I think it's one good way to find the right person for both parties. As long as you don't commit to one and go out with another.

As long as you aren't doing anything wrong. There is nothing wrong with liking someone else. I like someone other than my boyfriend but I'm not cheating on him because I like someone else and I would take time away from my present relationship before I cheated. That is only fair for both guys.
