It is wonderful that you are caring for your own parent. I am a CNA and i take care of other peoples parents everyday. My hat off to you because it does take a strong and loving person to take care of an elderly one they are not like babies or young children they require much more attention and loving understanding, no my dear you are not the only one, but at least you did not dump your parent off in a nursing home and never come back. Thank you for having such a kind and loving heart.

I cared for my Mother and my mother in law for quite a few years until they passed away. I know how hard it is and how much of your time it takes up. you need to take care of yourself and try
to take some time out. you can get burned out and then you
feel guilty for it.don't feel guilty if you feel overwhelmed or even
angry at times as all caregivers go through these feelings. I wish you the best of luck and may God bless you for your sacrifice

well im not personally, but i will speak for my mom. my grandparents moved closer so that they could have family around as they are gettin older. my mom is always the one doing things to help out. and her brothers live the same distance and just make excuses all the time about why they cant pitch in.
but at least my grandparents can count on my mom. thank god for her

i took care of my mom when she was old, i know at certain age you gonna treat them like kids, well they want to feel welcomed and the know they are helpless, but they took care of you when you were younger , and did they ever say they ones,, so treat them wright and love them the way they loved you ,God bless.
