I really love the Dixie Chicks, they are true American Heros for not being afraid to speak the truth. God Bless America, God Bless the Dixie chicks!

"DIXIE CHICKS – SHUT UP AND SING" is not a concert, it is a documentary. It travels with the Chicks, from their peak of popularity as the national anthem-singing darlings of country music and top-selling female recording artists of all time, through the now infamous anti-Bush comment, and on through the days, months and years of mayhem. The film follows the lives and careers of the Chicks through the writing and recording of their first album since “the incident” – and three years of political attack, making music, birthing babies, bonding, death threats, and laughter. At the end, the film presents a complete reconsideration of who people think they are, who they want to be and who, ultimately, they really are as women, as public figures, and as musicians.

"We're ashamed Bush is from Texas". I'm sure that is the truth, it's hardly an intellectual statement, nor does it make them heroes. On the other hand, I will go to their concert. I love their music. I'm just not interested in them personally.

I whole heartedly agree that what was done to the dixie chicks was absolute McCarthiesm, but I can't even pretend like I could sit through 2 hours of country music without hurting anybody, so I may have to decline.

they were not afraid to speak their opinion (not necessarily the truth). whether or not i agree with them, they are entitled to their opinion. i like their singing and will not destroy their records, cds, etc. it was perhaps unwise to go to another country and run down our president during a concert, if they wish to express their views, it might have been better on a talk show. i might not agree with them but i do have to defend their right to express their opinion. hopefully, next time it will be in a better more proper place.

like david/pilar said, you couldnt pay me to go see them, the traitorous nincompoops. that lead singer has about as much gray matter as plankton.

mccarthyism beardog4314? why would you call millions of americans mccarthyites? the gov didnt do anything to them. americans did. they did not like what they said and they told them with their pocketbooks. dont even flatter yourself or the chicks by thinking that the government gives a fig about what the dixie chicks do or say. its laughable!

yes, we know it is a mockmumentary. the title is lifted from a conservative author, her book is called shut up and sing, and radio host, laura ingrahm. she wrote a book about people like the chicks.

Not me. Don't wanna go see a singer that's a slightly overweight remake of Tanya Tucker.
