"Suck at math" method: Take a piece of paper and starting on the left side, carefully draw 100 lines on it and number each line beginning with 1. After that, starting on the left side, mark each 6th line (soda). Then go back and starting on the left side, mark each 9th line (popcorn). When the same line has both the soda mark and popcorn mark, you have a winner!

You need to find multiples of 9 and 6 that are the same. Multiples of 6 are 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54...
Multiples of 9 are 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63...
Once you have the numbers that are both multiples of 6 and 9, those people are the ones that will be getting popcorn and soda.
Then see if you can find some common bond between all the numbers you found.
Good luck.

Try this: On a piece of paper, write the numbers 1-10 on one line, below that write 11-20, below that write 21-30 all the way until you have the last row that is 91-100. Use 2 different colors of markers or pens or whatever you have. Begin by circling the number 6 with one color then count 6 more and circle 12 with the same color until you have counted 6 and circled that number up to 100. Go back with a second color and circle 9 then count 9 more and circle 18 and continue circling every 9th number until 100. Go back and see which numbers were circled with both colors. Then you will know which number of people got both free soda and free popcorn.

set up a grid. counting from 1-100, circle every number that is a multiple of 6 - you know, 6,12,18
Now do the same thing for 9s but use boxes - 9, 18. 27...
Any number that has a circle and a square around it, is your answer, 18 will should be the 1st one.
