Those characters look like the ones found in Microsoft Word.
Open Word go to "Insert" --> "Symbol" then browse the different symbols. I did not see the music note, but the heart is under "Symbol" font.
:)
Other charactors can be considered ASCII characters/symbols, but they are limited and really do not include shapes like hearts and such.
