Sounds bogus. If the space is completely empty, there's no matter and no energy. You might be thinking of "there more atoms in 1 cubic cm of [something] that there are stars in the universe"

Zero point energy is an untested theory at this point. No one has tapped it yet...
Would be great, even if the quantity was much less than what you talk about.
