Making things anew, making things work, actually work, requires much more than saying 'I love you'. Even if it's true love what you're confessing. We are humans, and for most of us, love is not enough to make a relationship work. So it is much more than words. Like the song comes to mean, it is every single little thing we do in a relationship that prove whether we love that person or not, and actually, when every action is focused towards the relationship working, there are no gaps to be jumped over, there are no fights... there is no need to try to make things new.

Words alone are not enough , actions say a lot . The words "I Love You" are only words unless you truly mean them and the way a person acts toward you tells the story...

It takes more than words although saying "I love you" helps. I'm a person that needs to be shown you can whatever you want but if you don't show it then what you say means nothing.

Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me
Hold me close don't ever let me go
More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
Cuz I'd already know

What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you

I think words are the most powerful things in human society, but we must make good on them. Actions ultimately really do speak louder than words.

it depends on the situation. Usually, it takes more than words. Sometimes hearing it just makes me smile.

Nothuing will make things new, resentment will always lay in some deep recess , festering, waiting for an error to resurface. Trust once broken is like a broken vase that when glued together leaks water.

I think it depends on how new things need to be,
and what words came before that.

Love doesn't need words but it is nice to hear and say them anyway.
