Lately when I shower my hair is just falling out. Especailly when I brush it and also all I have to do is run my hand through my hair and I get a handful of hair. Im only 18. I know that the woman in my family dont have hair problems so its nothing like that. I would go to the doctor but I cant offord anything. I could really use the help on this. Its starting to scare me.

Im not on birth control..Not pregnent (i hope not) havnt just had a baby. My diet is like most 18 year olds... I dont eat vegetables....never have though. I eat them every once in a while. I did just move 3 states away from my family to live with my boyfriend. So maybe some stress there. I was told to buy pretnatal vitamins and so I did that tonight. but i dunno.

2 Tiny,
Get in to your doctor and have him check your thyroid levels (simple blood test). My hair fell out in the shower by slight handfuls before I learned my thyroid was not producing well. Since it was corrected with a daily pill, it doesn't happen anymore.
Check out the symptoms of hypothyroid and see if you have any of those as well, like being cold often or more tired than usual, or itchy skin sometimes.... Your TSH number should be below below 3. Good luck!

Have you recently has a baby? Hair falls out in handfulls while the hormones level out after the baby. It can go on for a long time too, but you won't go bald. (Really. I had to ask my stylist about it too!)

how is your diet? if you are not getting enough vitamins and minerals, the follicles will weaken, causing your hair to fall out.
are you pregnant? on the pill? breastfeeding? hormonal changes can also cause hair loss.
this may sound weird, but don't wash your hair everyday. this strips your hair of natural oils, drying it out, which can also lead to hair breakage/loss.
good luck..
