I have a fourty four year old Tiny Chatty Baby that has some dried, funky hair. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to bring the doll's hair back to life, or do I have to have it re-rooted? Please don't bother answering unless you can truthfully answer the question. Thank you in advance! :)

I would not do anything with it....The doll hair we used in cosmetology class would get matted up really bad if we didn't wash it the correct way....Take it to someone who knows about vintage dolls

On my daughters ratty haired dolls, I used 2 Tablespoons of fabric softener to 1 cup of water in a spray bottle. I got the hair pretty wet then carefully combed and gently combed it out, then put it in sponge curlers to dry. Left the curlers in for a couple of days. It looked pretty good when it was done.

my mom is a doll collector and dealer. she uses baby shampoo and baby conditioner very carefully. keep the doll head pointed down so any water from rinsing will run back out the head and not into the body. you should be able to comb it carefullw after it starts to dry. you can then use no more tangles spray if it is still real tangled.

I'm not sure if it would work, but at a medical supply or a good drug store you can buy waterless shampoo and body wash. I have some called Aloe Vesta made by Convatec a division of Squibb & sons pharmaciticals (sp)
Mine is from hospital but I know you can buy simular products. I suggest trying a very small patch first. Just moisten carefully work through with fingertips, them wipe dry . Good luck

Look in the yellow pages for a "doll doctor". I would have it taken care of by a professional.
