You should look as soon as junior year Grade 11, because of paper shuffles, catalogs, and lack of information. It takes time unless you can spend 20 hours for 2 weeks each month per college.
Truth: People forget english, math, chemistry, reading, writing, physical exam, science skills...take the tests as soon as possible, about grade 12 fall. Some exams are acceptable in most State University systems. Junior Colleges in the same County usually might waive these entrance exams, if you take thier LEVEL exams instead.

Most people go right away to get it done with and get a good job. Sometimes it's harder to go to college if you wait and in the meantime get a job, have an income, meet someone, etc. However, some people go into service and then go to college because the military pays for it. And a lot of people go to college after working and raising kids for several years. But like I said, if you go right away, you have that education behind you and can go on with your life right after.

Your first step is decideding where to go after high school...have you been accepted anywhere that you realy want to go? If you think you should wait because you're not sure what you want to do...its okay alot of people dont know what they want to do, and it is completly normal to change your major many times until you really decide...but i would not take any time off unless you absolutly had to, otherwise it will be alot harder to go back and in the long run you will regret it because you got started so much later in your choosen career!

I think if most waited a year, worked and saved a little bit then enter college fulltime, you would be more mature and more serious. Or enter a community college, get your pre-reqs and then enter a 4yr school. But most people go right away, I think it just depends on the person. Do you what you want and know what you want to do. Good luck!

Have you been accepted to a college or university? If so, when you graduate, you can enter the kingdom of higher education.
Some colleges and universities have programs that start in early May (after Spring semester ends), some start their summer programs in June.
Many students who graduate from high school work over the summer, then start their classes in the fall.
It's up to you! (also it depends on your financial resources, too)

Don't wait, go to college right away. People who wait usually get stuck doing a job and never go.

My advice is not to wait. Once you get used to not attending school you REALLY won't want to. I will say that I learned more once I was older (and paying for my own classes...) and going for my Master's...but not going right after high school would have been disastrous for me. Good Luck!

Take as long as you need to decide you're serious about the endeavor. Otherwise, you're wasting your (or more likely, you parents') money.
