It is not an requirement, but it's quite a nice trick to have in your repertoire -- and an "unique" skill to put on your resume -- lol.
While it is good to add to the variety of giving dome, too much is overkill and will give you the porno/slut/whore tag though. I'm sure that you'd want to be liked and appreciated for more than your head skills.
It is enjoyable though and rare that a guy can find a girl with that skill, much less one even willing to go down on him in the first place.

I have never been keen in the past because my ex rarely did it and when she did it was not very good. My present and recent girlfriend however, is a real artist when it comes to giving head and she not only does it for my benefit, she really enjoys doing it as well and so I now really like it.

I'm a guy. To me, deep-throating is not nearly as important as finishing the job a gal has started.
