Can anybody give me some strong differences between the 2?

"conservatives" want to maintain the status quo, and "liberals" want to change it. these are simply idealogical differences, however, and the truth is that in a practical sense, there is really no difference between the two (in a governmental context). they are meant to seem like two vastly different philosophies, in order to maintain the illusion of a democratic society. however, they both advance the same agendas.

In America today the differences are more along the lines of socialism and capitalism. I have included some links that should give you a different perspective than you might get in a school or university.

Conservatives generally speaking think that people are better at solving their own problems than the government is. Liberals believe that one of the purposes of government is to help people solve their problems. Except in the cases of extreme left or right wingers, the goals are the same - to help people be the best they can be. The disagreement comes in how one does that and what the proper role of government in that context is.
