No, in my opinion the only truly marketable "real thing" is Kelly Clarkson...None of the others have any stay power for various reasons. Although, I should say we will see what becomes of the country chick..Can't remember her name but she seems good for her genre. Unfortunately, I think Hicks won't budge on his image. Oh well.

Heck no. Fantasia won, Ruben won and we've barely heard anything about them since, except for that Lifetime documentary. Chris Daughtry should have won anyways. But personally I think there is no possible way that Taylor could be as good as Kelly or Carrie or even Clay.

No one will ever live up to the star that Kelly Clarkson has become. At least not off THAT show. But it sure is funny watching all the people who suck!!!!!

Yes, maybe even better. He is different and we need a change than the same ol same ol. I think a variety of people with different likes enjoy listening and watching him. He is a real person.

no becuase he doesnt have the 'look'. plus, most american idols are liked by little girls, im pretty sure that most little girls dont like his style of singing. they all like kelly clarkson

I did not like him much. I don't know if it was his voice or just his jerking that bothered me. I just couldn't stand to watch him. Personally, you either like him or you don't. He might have his group of followers but he does not compare to Kelly...at all!

No. I dont think he has much star quality. Grey hair, yes. But no spark that catches my eye. Really, I couldnt believe he even won.
