Good question, I had to look it up. There's a few schools of thought on that. One is that it keeps the junk warm. Another is to cut down on friction during sex. The third is that it's to capture sweat and pheremones so that we smell stronger and attract the opposite sex. I'm not to sure about that last one. Here's a link to the wikipedia article on the subject- don't open it at work, as there are pictures of pubic hair in it's natural environment.

How much do you want him to know? LOL!

An easy one you can maybe tell him.....

The purpose of women's pubic hair could be similar to that of the cilia in the nose, in that it prevents small foreign particles from entering the vagina. Doesn't help explain male pubic hair though.

Now the rest......don't know if you'll wanna share it yet or not?????

It is believed that the functions of pubic hair include the dissemination of pheromones (scents that the body produces that can be sexually stimulating to others) and protection from the friction of sexual intercourse.

It's a sign he is becoming an adult. I think its only purpose is to separate the men from the boys. And to attract any woman that sees that he is now a man (in cultures where nudity is more common).

I read recently that pubic and underarm hair are no longer needed parts of our body that trap our pheromones (sexual odors) in order to attract mates. Now are superflous to us the same as our appenix and coccyx.
