My daddy held a gun to me when i was little before i started school.I thought i was surely to die.i covered my face with my hands and cried as he stood over me with it aimed at the center of my head.There were other scary times with my dad but that was by far the most scary thing in my life.

The time when I was about 10 years old, I was body surfing at the beach in Durban (South Africa) and surprise surprise I was swept out to sea. There was a couple walking along the breakwater who spotted my distress and very bravely did not jump in to help me. Instead they encouraged me to make for the break water, If only I had thought of that. It was years later that I found out that Durban is / was notorious for Great White Shark attacks, The thought that one of those might have been watching my skinny body's pathetic attempt at swimming still gives me the screaming hebbe jebbies.

One time, my sister passed out when she got a cut, we were about five or six. I thought she was going to die my mother screamed so loud. Another time when she fainted, my mom was holding her and her eyes rolled up into the back of her head, we were about seven. Another time my sister passed out, I heard the thump from downstairs and it really scared me, especially since she hurt her neck that time. Wow she passes out a lot.
The time I found out my best friend was depressed and cutting herself.
The time I realized the person I was closest to in the world was anorexic.
The time when someone called my house and said "I heard about your dad, I hope the test for cancer comes back negative". I was about 10 or 11, and my dad hadn't told me or my sister. the results were negative though.
I got that 'old hag syndrome' thing when I was about six. It was terrifying and accompanied by nightmares. "Mommy, God is angry with me." "WHAT!? Why do you think that?" "Because last night, He pulled me up by the straps of my nightgown up towards the ceiling and I couldn't scram to get your attention" "______, God is not angry with you. That didn't happen. You were just dreaming"
Or maybe the time when I was five and my mom woke me up because she was in too much pain to reach the phone. I had to walk out into the dark dining room, then living room to find the telephone. I couldn't reach the lightswitch so it was dark, and I was terrified of the living room thanks to the creepy toys in 'Toy Story'. I asked my mom to wake up my sister instead but my mom said no because she was asleep. So I did it, and had to call the stranger at my dad's work and ask to talk to my daddy and tell him that mommy has a tummyache. He came home, figured out that my mom needed to have her appendix taken out, and called an ambulance. Seeing my mom leave in an ambulence and not knowing if she was dying was scary too.
Sorry for such a long answer, but those are all the scariest, it's a tie.

It was either the time I was pulled out of a burning car or the time I was pulled out of the river... both were scary but in a surreal type of way -- like I can't believe this is happening.
The fire was scary but nearly drowning will give you a panic like nothing else.
Lessons learned -- I don't swim in the river anymore, and I will never own a Ford.

one time my mom was driving me to a friedns house on I-75 and there was a left lane a ditch and then the right lane which we were in when i looked to my right there was a red car that was flipping over and a black car that was rolling down the ditch and it came back up the ditch into our lane and the car was coming straight at us my mom pulled forward about one inch and the black car hit the car behind us. it was the most scariest moment of my life

For me it has to be the time I had it in my mind to kill myself by jumping in the sea at the harbour near where I lived at the time. I had it in my mind what I was going to do. It may seem strange to most people but Id got it all planned right down to tieing a name tag around my waist so when I was pulled out they would know who I was and who to contact etc. Well I walked up to the end of the harbour and looked out at the island in the distance, took a deep breath and looked down to the sea.........then I realised....... the tide was out so the worse that would happen to me is a broken leg...lol.......The scariest thing was realising that I had to go on living for a bit longer.....that was at the time, truly was very scary!! lol....

Deciding to agree to chemotherapy because I had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Very scary, even though some other moments come close. But wise. I am fine now, and it wasn't as bad as I expected!

When I was in a crowded cable car going up to the top of a mountain in Dominican Republic, we wer over some forest and it suddenly stopped at speed and jerked back and forth...we all thought we had met our maker. Fortunately, it had just run out of gas!

Two of them. 1. Swimming in a Queensland outback pool and seeing a croc looking at me about 15 metres away. I'm still here. 2. Swimming in a Queensland garden small jacuzzi pool and finding a lethally-poisonous live wriggling brown snake in there with me. I'm still here.

Facing childbirth for the first time. I was terrified! It was a deservedly scary experience but well worth the effort, so much so that, two years later, I went back and did it all again!
