What was the big deal about excluding it in the first place? All they've managed to do was screw up a lot of text books and encyclopedias. I think the whole thing was about egos and power trips.

I don't think so.

Acording to the people who took it off the list, Pluto is not a planet in terms of the definition of what a planet is. I don't think that we should give it "planet" status just out of sentimental reasons. We'll get used to the fact that what we were taught in school isn't true anymore. But I guess it's like that with every generation.

I dont know, details are very hard to interpret if Pluto is a planet or not. To scientists Pluto is nothing more than a dirty snowball. They say its too small to be a planet and that it is in another orbit.
But why should this make a difference in our daily life, i think it should make life easier, one less planet to memorize.

What was the reason for 'demoting' it anyway! Is it that it has gotten smaller or bigger, dangerous or more dangerous?
