Stretch your voice every day. Don't strain it, though!

If you have a keyboard or piano at home, start at a comfortable note. Then go up a half step. And another. And another. And so on. If your throat starts to hurt, STOP! Drink something hot or eat something mint. While you are stretching your upper range, go ahead and do it to your lower range and stretch your lungs with breathing exercises.

In time, seeing as you are in a choir, you will gain more and more in your range.

I'm glad to see a guy is in choir. Only secure men can be in one.

You could try using your head voice....don't know if you know what that means but every person has a head voice and a chest voice and the head voice is way higher. That's how altos are able to sing some soprano. But I don't know if it sounds good for guys cuz I'm not one lol. Also make sure you use your diaphragm to get some power behind it, and just practice. You may be able to stretch your vocal range, but it may be at the expense of some of your lower notes, that happened to my brother. Try doing vocal stretching excercises and just go up and down the scale. Or take some voice lessons and get professional advice. :-)

recently i have been moved from an alto to a soprano, i didn't think i could do it at all at first. after you start slowly working your voice a little higher one note at a time and practicing on a daily basis, it will get a lot easier. (i've been singing since i was 4!!)
