I'm asking this question because I don't know anything better. I'm not trying to suggest anything or have any intensions other than I'm trying to learn because I'm stupid.
Anyway, everytime I watch tv, look @ billboards, or read magazine & newspaper, 3 out of 5 times, a white lady and a black guy are always paired together. If there are 2 white ladies, it's mostly likely the blonde (or with blonde highlights) would be paired up with a black guy. I want to understand the meaning behind it & why advertisers and producers feel it has to be that way. Ex. are TV commericals, news, extras for a shows, ads from Sears, JcPenny, etc..
The other question is how come asian guys are not included in TV?

Hey Miss, you are so right -i've noticed this many times myself - Why, I don't know, but i'd like to see other combos too. After all, it makes for an interesting aside to the commercial - something you're going to pay attention to and isn't that the point?

Personally I feel bad for asian guys. Everybody loves an asian woman, but you never hear ladies say "I've got asian guy fever." Maybe that's why they're not included in the commercials.
As for the white women and the black man??? I think they've both become universal sex symbols. There are, of course white men and black women sex symbols, but they have smaller fan bases. But everybody loves a white girl! And the black guy??? If you're a weathy white guy looking to buy stuff and you don't care for the woman, you will like the black guy.

most of the USA like to look at different people and different things. Mag. editors and TV producers like to do the same thing People think with there eye and the people who do the mags. and the TV shows know that so they want to home in on that. They pair up an African American and a white American and so on and so forth because on the visual that comes out of it. If it is a blond woman or a woman with blond high lites it is mostly to attract the male eye. IF it is a man with out a shirt on it is to attract the women's eye and so on. the persons that make the shows and or mags. know this and they are on top of what guys and women like to see and what they want.

I think you are hallucinating. From what I've seen, the marketing gurus bend over backwards to pair minorities with minorities. I have only seen a couple where they paired black guys with blond girls. They will pair a dark black with a very light black, asians with blacks, but usually it's white with white, unless they need to get their quota into the ad.

Your numbers are really skewed. You've become intrigued by the white woman black guy combo, so it's the ads that are catching your eyes.
Hmmm.. Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Ron Yuan (CSI:NY), but you're right, they are in a minority.

the only thing i can come up with is that since the whole bi-racial thing is more widely accepted today than in recent years, all these major companies are trying to project, through their advertising just how "hip" and "with the times" they can be. as far as the asian guys guess it isn't their turn yet.

But, you had to ask.
People are curious about the world around them and ever seek answers. How is it different, Why is it different, Who makes a difference, What will make a difference, and How does it make a difference.
Who, what, how, when, where, why.
We need to know about the world around us and everything it includes. That's life.
