I must give full credit to Manchester City Football Club
with regards to the Ben Thatcher inncident and the way the club from the boardroom down have responded to the episode, as a Pompey fan i found the whole episode disturbing, now i think the matter should be put to bed nothing more can be gained from Mr Thatcher he has admitted his crime & will do the time, Pedro himself does not want any further action taken so we must also take on board his feelings as well, but there is one foot note to mention Harry wanted to sign Ben as Harry said qoute ' his a tough tackler & won't back of from a challange' now lets all get on with avoiding relegation, having a good cup run, & qualifing for europe eh !!

the crime and punishment has been set and the whole thing has been settled

but what remains is the player's attitude, and i think similar incidents may happen again unless he gets professional help

As a City fan and having seen other clips of Thatcher I wouldn't care if they get rid of him

Agree. Thatcher has to be punished.
It was a cynical challenge. He had no intention to play the ball. Mendes could have come out of it much worse.

i think u are absolute rubbish, both smith and cisse's tackles were not with intent. look at how thatcher went in with his arm raised, smacked right across mendes's face. wake up, u bloody idiot. i thought liverpool fans are smarter than that. and btw, i am a liverpool supporter!

No, he's an exceptionally stable participant. yet yet another coup for Walter, who took Gazza and Laudrup to Ibrox, and controlled the two so nicely that they performed the terrific soccer of their careers. WATP
