I'm fairly sure that is fraud as she did not purchase the clothing from the original retailer. It's the same thing to the store as stealing something and then bringing it back for a refund.

I'm not sure if it's illegal, but most stores want the receipt b/f the refund any money, just in case you stole the item instead of paying for it. It's also highly unethical and dishonest.

Yes it's against the law! It's fraud. She's returning it to another store and acting if she bought it there. Walmart doesn't actually buy back stuff from K-mart. Nobody does! It's lying, and even if she doesn't verbally lie, she is intentionally misleading them, which still equals guilty.

It is not against the law but is very dishonest,It would be like stealing so have your friend think about what she is doing.If she can sleep at night knowing what she is doing is not right then I would find a new friend.
