My best friend is angry at me because she thinks i told my husband something in confidence. I didn't tell him anything that would have led him to beleive what she thinks i told him. We have been friends a long time and i miss her. But we haven't talked in almost a month. What should i do?

some times friends can not ever take the place of a husband, and they understand (maybe not all of share EVERYTHING with our husbands), that most wifes do tell their husbands everything. I for one don't think he is listening anyway. She needs to SEE that you didn't say anything. Hasn't your husband wondered where you best friend is. He could offer to have a BBQ - or a party, and have lots of others around and invite her as well, then have a toast to her, as a good friend; she would put the rumor mill to bed. Maybe the thing she thinks you told got back to someone SHE told, and she doesn't think THAT person is capable of repeating sentive matters. good luck-

Well maybe you should make it clear to her that you didn't share her secret, but in the future if it is something she doesn't want your husband to know then she should keep it to herself. It is completely unfair for a friend to expect you to keep things from your husband. He is your life partner and should be your bestfriend before anyone else. So if she can't respect that shes not much of a friend.

A good friend doesn't tell anything told in confidence, no matter what. If you really didn't say anything, then you need to sit down with her and talk about this. Go to her place and insist she tell you what is really bothering her.

Just try and resolve the issue calmly and re-assure her that what she thinks happened isn't true. Perhaps remind her that you've been friends for so long and that this matter shouldn't halt your friendship. Hopefully this helps.
