I imagine it is hard enough to manage your own disability without having to worry about someone Else's too. So no I do not think she is being hypocritical or mean. Just honest.

Im sure that if she fell in love with someone more disabled than herself then she would change her mind.

It think that's idiotic, really...both are disabled...who ever heard of the handicapped (oops! did I say that???) being choosy or discriminating about others like them? This is surely a first...
But, I guess I contradict myself...it's just like people of an ethnicity not finding a darker person (colorism) than themselves attractive, but that's another issue to be discussed.
Personal preference, I guess.

She probably has enough to deal with with her disability and having someone with a worse disability would be even harder for her. Cut her some slack.
