if the purple paint is dry...you will get red

You should be able to paint over deep purple with red, but it might take a couple of coats.

Depending on the number of coats of red you use (and if the deep purple is dry or not), it will either be a slightly darker version of the red or a brownish red.

a mess, use a very light color that is called STAIN KILL. it covers up ANY paint. Then you can paint any color you want and it won't bleed threw. A permante marker will be hard to cover though with even SK. good luck

Why Paint? in basic terms use wall paper on skinny wall panels tacked up. do no longer like it? turn the panels over to next shade. You mean you by no ability went to HomeDepot yet? gown up in Goth outfit and that they might shade tournament something.
