If you're right, then you've just suggested that all of us who aren't "poor" should ignore you, becuase you are "poor". Now is that fair? When I think about whether I like someone, it has little to do with how much money I think they make, and lots to do with how well we get along.

Well, I have seen both worlds first hand. I grew up poor yet was able to attend a private high school with tons of rich families. I'd have to say I do get along with the people who are not wealthy. The rich families did have this ********* about them that they were better than you and their kids take everything for granted. One's financial stability in no way determines whether they are nice or mean, that is something that is defined in their character. Most of the people I know who are not financially stable are very nice. I always try to help out anyone I can. Now, rich people don't spend their tax money on trees and welfare is good for those who need it. It is bad that the welfare system has so many loopholes that people take advantage of it. I don't look at people whether they are rich or poor though, I look at them for the person they are. Maybe you are stereotyping too much. You have a presupposition about people you don't even know. So just get to know people first. And for governmental programs, it is all taxpayers paying that not just rich people.

I live in a wealthy community, but who I like or don't like isn't based on how rich or poor they are. Years ago, I read an article where Martha Stewart said all of her friends drive Jaguars. It's difficult to believe someone would be so shallow as to base a "friendship" on whether the car someone drives is expensive enough.
Personally, I find many well-to-do people in my community to be unimaginable bores and so full of their own shallow self-worth they cannot see that the world, indeed, does not revolve around them.
For sure, being poor is a tough, tough gig. I know, I've been there. But, being rich is no picnic either. Some of the unhappiest people I've ever met have more money than they could ever hope to spend.
You miss the point when you question why or how being poor or being around the poor is "so wonderful". Whether rich or poor, there's a PERSON in there! It's the person, not their economic status, that is important! Some people think, "...well, that person is rich, they certainly don't need my compassion or support." Or they blame the poor for the situation they find themselves in. Rich, poor or somewhere in the middle, we all have a story. We all need to feel valued and listened to. We all need support and the feeling that someone truly cares about us.

a poor person with a rich heart! I have seen plenty of rich people tell me that the reason my family was poor was because we don't know how to work! or stupid remarks like that! i personally think tax money should be handled by the government! I know plenty of people that grew up poor that thank God for the welfare money that they had to help them! What do you say to a mother that works 2 and 3 jobs to support her children after the father left them in the gutter with nothing but their clothes on! At that point she has to do what she has to do for her children to make it! weithe she has schooling or not! so she can still have her values and do what she needs to do for hreself and her children! Yes the less fortunate do benefit from the taxes that are taken but it is put to good use. don't worry about the rich eirther because what alot of rich people that i did know was that they are only one paycheck away from being poor themselves! God is the judge of all and the money we have know won't effect how or where God says you go! Where much is givin much is required! That means that if you have alot you have to give back! If the govornment taxes you then you pay the tax and say it's a good deed done! Give whole hearted and Love it! I do it all the time and i'm not rich! But i'm rich with love! Thats all that really matters!

I know it sounds very much like a cliche, but people are people regardless of whether they are poor or rich. Both rich or poor, I've met people who are very kind and caring and some who have been cold and uncaring. To answer your question, what I like better are beautiful people. In the ways that if they are poor, they don't act like they are owed something because they are poor. On the contrary, the people who are rich but don't look down on others because they are rich.

there are nice and nasty people among the rich and poor. taxes pay for the programs that benefit the poor by everyone and poor people can be nicer about life in general than a rich person who thinks about a higher quality of life. it's better to apppreciate what there in any way possible than expect life to be "upgraded".

I have danced with princes and waded across streams to visit people in log cabins. Some I like and some I didn't in both areas. Accept people as friend because of what's in their heart. Don't be turned off but what reminds you of a life you did not like. Educated people come from the middle class and have opportunities to go either way. Don't look to money as a savior. If you have it, someone will try to take it away from you. Be happy with fresh air , clean water and a few good friends. Happiness is not taxible!

I think they are equal. No man or woman is better than any other man or woman, especially in America. We are all created equal. This is also true in God's eyes.
