Ask your doctor if you can have a thyroid test. It is just a simple blood test. If your thyroid is out of balance the medication for it will slow down your eating and help your body process the food.
If you are eating a lot and are not gaining weight it could just be a natural growing spurt you are going through.

Have you been under a lot of stress lately? Maybe you need to redirect that stress and when you feel like you want food, go for a walk instead. Or drink some water or juice instead. Also, see if your parents will help you out by keeping healthy food in the house and limiting the amount of junk food.

Below is the beginning of an article I found on the subject from webmd.com:

"Have you ever felt you absolutely must have a piece of chocolate, a potato chip (oh, let's get real -- an entire bag of potato chips), or a box of Krispy Kremes?

Those food cravings are not a sign of weakness on your part. If you crave certain foods like cereals, grains, and sugar, you may actually be addicted to them, says James Braly, MD, medical director of York Nutritional Laboratories and author of Food Allergy Relief.

People with a food addiction may have symptoms like headaches, insomnia, irritability, mood changes, and depression, Braly says. They can relieve these symptoms -- but only temporarily -- by eating the foods they crave.

Most often, the foods we crave are processed carbohydrates. These change the brain's chemistry, increasing the level of serotonin, our feel-good neurochemical. "

It's normal during your teenage years to eat a lot. Your metabolic rate at that age is fast because you're growing. vertically. I wouldn't worry about it too much as you're probably active and you exercise often. That should balance it out. But try to stay away from junk foods;eat a healthy diet , lots of vegetables and fruits. Before each meal, drink a lot of water to fill you up so you won't gorge. Try to eat small portions.

Has this been the case, always or did this just recently start? Hopefully it's just a temporary thing, stress depression etc. I know,I eat more when I'm dealing with both. Do you feel full or feel as though, you never get full? If it's the latter,it could be more serious. Either way,let your parents know what's going on. There's help for both situations. Peace,Y.

Stress will do it to you every time. When I get food cravings like that, and believe me I do, I chew gum and do an activity such as jogging or sports. Keep busy. If you still can't quit thinking about food, see your doctor.

There is an organization called "Overeaters Anonymous" you may want to go on line and get some information about this.

You may also want to have your parents take you to your doctor...this could be a physical problem.

Don't get too upset there's an answer to every problem.

Exercise is the key. Also, eat smaller meals more frequently. It will help your metabolism burn fat and calories.
