Men do it all the time with their sons.

I happen to really like my name, Lindley. I would love it to have my daughter named after me. Of course I would give her a different middle name.

But what is your opinion on women giving their daughters their name?

It actually happens off ten (if you come from a Hispanic/Mexican background) It's absolutely normal. Lindley is actually a nice and unique name never really heard it.

No its perfectly normal if u name your daughter after yourself ecspecially if u come from a hispanic background but after a while u might want to regret name your child after you because it might get really confusing unless u want your daughter to be called Lindley the II then you should problably put lindley as a middle name rather from the first name and try to get a name close to lindley like lizzie, linda, ect.search on other websites with baby names to find out more names.

I would suspect that it's not to common, owing to the fact that it could be confusing.
But it's your child, and the name is pretty. so why not.
It's true that Jr, won't work, for her, but how about calling her Miss Lindley. It could prevent any confusion.
I'm not sure if you had it growing up, with name shortening or a nickname, but sometimes family and friends come up with a shortened version on the name anyway. That often sticks.
I was named after my Dad, but as he was always called Johnny and I, John, no Jr, was needed.
I always wanted to be called Johnny, but for some reason, that never happened. So what can we do, but live with it. lol

Let me start by saying Lindley is a VERY cool name. Your mother was a very smart woman!

My opinion about women naming their daughters after themselves is the same as my opinion of men naming their sons after themselves. In general, it is egotistical and narcissistic.

I believe that every person deserves to own their own name.

Maybe you could give her Lindley as a middle name?

I personally think that a child, male or female, should have his or her own name. I think they're individuals and shouldn't be in anyone's shadow. Your idea of giving your daughter a slightly different name is a good one, but I don't think you should have her go by "Lindley" since you already do. Call her by her middle name.

I've seen that before and I honestly think it's a little weird to have first names be the same. Your name is very pretty though. My middle name is LeAnn and my daughter's middle name is LeAnne (just slightly different). Obviously, having the same middle name doesn't stand out because most people never know or ask for your middle name. Our first names our completely different. Maybe you could name your daughter something else but use your first name as her middle name.

My grandmother was born in the 1800's. Her name was Lillian, and she named her youngest daughter, Lillian, She called her "Lilly" to stop any confusion...it's old fashioned and wonderful. I have my mother's first name as my middle name and my daughter does and now my granddaughter. What a legacy this is! Good for you!

It's better to give her a different name, primarily because there will be no confusion. Otherwise, it will always be "Which Lindley?", you know?

Confusing while she is growing up unless you plan on calling her by her middle name. Men do it all the time and add "jr" to the end. We don't have a cute little thing to add to end of girls names yet. Maybe you could invent one?

i have only known one person to have named her daughter after her and i thought that it was kind of weird especially since i worked with both of them. the name was kelly. not to say that i think it is a bad thing. i think that if that is what you want to do and you absolutley love your own name and think that it is the perfect name for you baby too then do it.
