Your 'frooze' seems to be a result of a combination of undeleted temporary internet files/cookies, no CCleaner & no Lavasoft AdAware programs. Since your computer is probably clogged, it may take some time to perform these functions and to also 'defragment' your disk drive. If I was you, the 1st thing I'd do is, from an open browser window go to Tools > Internet Options >
(General Tab)'delete' temporary files > Apply > 'delete' cookies >
Apply > OK. NOTE: There will be a short 10-120+second delay while each of these 2 'applications' are being rendered. Then activate the CCleaner in the Yahoo!Toolbar for 2 more operations. [If you don't have a YahooToolbar or a CCleaner installed, it is going to take a few moments to download it from http://CCleaner.com] 1st, scan for 'issues' from the left margin of the CCleaner window. After a few moments the shaded right bottom box in the window will prompt you by unshading itself when the scan is completed. 'Fix selected items' by selecting all issues & disregard keeping a backup. Once the 'issues' are cleaned, from the left margin of the CCleaner Window select 'Cleaner' for another operation to delete any missed items.
The CCleaner will shut itself off when completed. The Lavasoft AdAware SE Personal is a free program to identify & remove the 'blue meanies' freezing your system. Follow the prompts after engaging the swifter 'smart scan'. It'll also take a few minutes to run the scan. When completed, select 'all' & 'delete'.
The degragmentation is aquired through 'Start' > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > Disk Defragmenter. Be sure the HDD (C drive) is highlighted an click 'anaylze' & wait for the next prompt. If you find that the system does not need to be defraged, close the window & carry on like you're suppose to be able to carry on, 'defrosted'! These steps seem like a real pain but need to be performed every day to assure there will never be another 'frooze'! Okay, so I'm exaggerating slightly but not too much. I spent 2 years before I could avoid the slow downs! Since incorporating these steps just 6 months ago, I have a good time remembering how much frustration I encountered learning the hard way. You are not alone. There must be 500 people out there right now with the same problems you're facing & will overcome the 'issues' exactly like we all must, one keystroke or mouse click at a time!! Have a very nice day!;-) [+2]
