Depends:

- for one slide each, 84/12 = 7 cuts per cake (12*7 = 84 people)
- for two slides each, 2*84/12 = 14 cuts

and so on

Note that the total amount of cake will not change (from one piece to two pieces) from the initial answer...just that your original slice will be divided n times.

number of people=84,
if all 84 eated cake equally than
than
one cake is shared by
number of people/number of cake=number of people shared 1 cake
84/12=number of people shared 1 cake
therefore 7 people shared 1 cake
hence each cake has to be cut in 7 equal pieces
answer=7
