Some possibilities (I think, but not an expert in this field):

1) Each time you add and delete a file, info about that file is stored in the FAT - File Allocation Table (flash drives use FAT, not NTFS).
Even when you've deleted a file, its entry is still in the (I think). Therefore the FAT will only ever get bigger.

2) You have some "bad sectors" on the flash disk. When the file system notices these it marks them as unusable.

Try reformatting the drive, you may get the space back.

Well the closest I can come to answering this question is this- Do you have it plugged in while on the internet? If so then maybe the cookies from the internet somehow make their way onto the usb storage thing. Another little something is that with Memory Stick Duo's (the ones for PSP) they have a 'user capacity' and a bit reserved for system files. Maybe you are getting something a bit like this, except the bit reserved for system files is increasing. Copy important data to your PC and then format the usb storage thing.

huh? It only decreases when you use up space on it. From the start it will say less than 128 mb due to the way bites are calculated, which is the case for all hard drives, etc.

well storage capacity never decreases. It may only decrease if you add files to it. If thats not the case then I must remind you that every storage device takes up some space to fill its special specification and so forth. If you need further assistance email me at sci_res07@yahoo.com

I am not sure but I think if you re-format the usb disk this will clean it up, however I do recommend you check this before actually doing as it has been a while since I did do it on an old USB pen of mine and I would like to get a second opinion in case.

check whether you have hidden files there, and if yes it may be a virus or something increasing its size. If so, you can simply format the drive.
Or else, your drive may be getting damaged and making more and more 'bad sectors'. If that is the case, it will reduce your usable size. You can check it with a drive scan program. (In accecories->system tools menu). If it is the case, backup your data immediatly. And dont put your important data there........

Are you deleting files that you no longer need? This is probably why your capacity is decreasing , you are not cleaning up.

take note that usb storage has lower storage than what they say on the side of the box. part of your 128mb is allocated for the storage devices software, for example if your device has a lock switch on the side of it, its needs bit of the memory to use that switch.

do no longer even waste your money guy. Your laptop is previous. purchase a sparkling one. With the setup you intend on getting that's going to nonetheless barley run the sims 3. The photographs would be very low, and the lag could be so undesirable your no longer even going to prefer to play it.

the 128MB is unformatted space, so when formatted for use, it decreases slightly, the same as hard disks.

It wont decrease any more. (except when you add files obviously)
