Walking really helps. In fact, that's what the hospital staff usually has you do if your admitted into the hospital. Warm baths help to stimulate the uterus too. Congrats!!

What do you mean, you don't feel good? You mean just the contractions? Or do you feel sick? If you feel sick you should call your doctor right away.

To get labor moving, which is really a hard thing to do unless you get something like oxytocin from the doctor when you go into the hospital, you can try some home remedies, none of which really work on a consistent basis.

Walking. When you are standing up, all the weight of the baby and your uterus are pressing downward on the cervix, which can cause it to dilate faster.

Orgasms: Sometimes orgasms can bring contractions on and help the labor process along.

Don't even mess around with drinking cod liver oil or anything like that. It doesn't work, and will make you have the worst diarrhea, and make you nauseated.

Don't take any kind of herbal remedy to start labor, you can do a lot of harm if you aren't educated as to what to take, amount, how often, etc.

If you get absolutely sick and tired of it and want it to speed up AND if your doctor agrees, you can ask the doctor to do something called "stripping the membranes". You will have to go in to the doctor for that, and what happens is that he will run his or her finger in between the amniotic sac and the wall of the uterus to kind of strip it away a bit. This brings on labor, for real, within 24 hours. Fast. However, there has been controversy about this because it can cause bleeding if not done right. I had it done with both of my last two children, and it worked fine for me. Had it done the week I was due. Your doctor might not feel it is safe to do, however.

The best and most appropriate method would be to go for a walk.
This may sound a little red neck but go to a wal-mart and just walk and make a wish list. The old saying goes that if you watch a pot waiting for the water to boil it takes forever. Same way with child birth. To take your mind off mother natures timely fashion go to the mall or wal-mart and just make out that wish list or shop for yourself or the baby. Sometimes dialation cant take as long as week. Be assured though that when your water breaks birth is soon to follow. Good luck and best wishes on your soon to be new addition to your family.

Strange how nature works and that baby of yours just isn't ready. Make sure to check with your doctor that he/she hasn't turned around. Your doctor will know what to do, break your water or induce labor if you are ready. Hang in there if he/she says you aren't ready for either one of these. Just make sure the baby isn't breach, that's what it sounds like! Good Luck and have a beautiful baby....
