Do you know which side is the hypotenuse in a right angled triangle?

Can you work these out or explain them so I understand:

Factorise:15ab + 3b
24mn – 6n

Solve: 6w + 9 = 18w – 3
5(2d +3) = 35

The hypoteneuse is the long side of the triangle
15ab + 3b, factor out 3b to get 3b(5a + 1)
24mn - 6n factor out 6n to get 6n(4m - 1)

6w + 9 = 18w - 3
12 = 12w
divde both sides by 12
w = 1

2d + 3 = 7
2d = 4
d = 2

Factor:
First remove the b since it is present in both terms
b(15a+3)

3 can go into itself and 15 so remove that
3b(5a+1) - Answer

Solve:
5(2d+3)=35
Multiply 5 to the term is is attached to
10d+15 = 35
Subtract 15 from both sides
10d=20
divide both sides by 10
d=2

9+3=18w-6w
12=12w
w=1

5(2d+3)=35
10d+15=35
d=(35-15)/10
d=20/10
d=2

15ab + 3b = 5 * 3 * a * b + 3 * b
24mn - 6n = you got to do that, i dont know how on the keyboard.

which ever side is the base. it's like the longest side. I think it's whatever # is c. I don't know but i think that's it. i can't tell u which # that is though.
