Hip-hop/rap music is a form of art. Some people enjoy the art produced and some can't stomach a moment of it. All types of art have a swing this large as well as what all the people in between think. You're on the opposite end of where the makers and people who love rap are. You can't relate to it and probably never will. I feel this way about country music while I enjoy SOME hip-hop, almost any form of rock, 80's pop and several other genres of music.
FYI ~ I don't think this is a racist question and some of the responses to it are just ignorant!

It takes all kinds of music to make the world go round, just like people. Have you ever listened to country music some is a s bad as rap but you don't hear rappers hatin on it, rockers try to rap in their music, but you don't hear rappers ha tin on that either, yodeling is some very hard to understand music as is enya's music,... how can you say rap is horrible when poets like Shakespeare help to create it. Ignorance is a futile state of mind

I listen to rap most of all music. I'd have to say most rap listeners I know do not bad mouth other music, but the non-rap listeners seem to bad mouth rap all the time. If you dont like it, no one cares because it is still going to exist. I love listening to rap. I dont really like country music but I still appreciate it when I hear a good song.

It's a mystery of life to me.
Why do black women dance on the videos with men who won't respect them.
I've never been a fan of rap music because it never told the story of my life.
I believe that rap music is for the rich people who actually have the things rappers boast about.
I understand that not all rap is about money, cars and women. There are only 2 songs I like that don't refer to me as a b*tch or "hoe".
There's plenty types of rap.
The rap that talks about money, cars and brainless women are for those who can afford to enjoy listening to it.
However, it is also for those who dream about the lifestyle. I never caught on with folks like that but I never would befriend them either.

That's what seems to pretain to the kids these days minds. I agree with you. Rap isn't even a form of music. IT's more like poetry being sung in the worst possible voice.

rap music exist because the white man buys it...
think about it... who makes all the damn money in america?? donald trump isnt black, but i can gaureentee that he has at least 5 rap cd's in his cd wallet....
who are the heads of all the major distribution labels??? it isnt a black man or woman....
music need rap to stay alive... its called controversy...
now, i will admit, rap isnt as "musically" challanging as lets say, jazz, blues, or even soul music, but lets see you try to get up there and scream your music over a thumping bass line, hot drum tracks...... lets see you even create the music..... its not all that easy....
its funny, whenever a rap album does come out..... who stands in line to buy it?? who downloads it to their laptops?
now your real question should have been, "why does racism still exist, and why are people like me askin ignorant questions like this???"

people like it. i dunno why, but they do.
im only 19 but i hate it. its not music, just someone talking into a microphone with a drum beat behind it.
what makes me laugh is that when a good indie or rock band comes along, they massively outsell the rap/hip-hip/urban artists, so it seems that most people really do prefer this music but the media (tv and radio in partucular) force rap/hip-hip/urban upon us.
give me a guitar any day. indie and rock will last forever, in a few years noone will remember who Usher is, but Oasis and the Beatles will still be on the radio.
oh, and shakespeare had no part in the creation of rap ;) rap is of african origin

i don't think rap is horrible. You might think it's cuz i'm black or whatever but i don't care. Just like i think opera music and rock is horrible. Why do people like rock? And i ain't sayin it's cuz they are white, but hey people have different opions because of many different reasons.

ITs not all bad but I have to addmit that its gotten pritty bad over the years. There are some rapers with style still.
