6 1/2 = 13/2
(23/4)(13/2) = 299/8 = 37 3/8

6.5 x 5.75 = 37.375

are you assuming that the gold is pure gold and the silver is pure silver? Are you assuming that the volume of silver would equal the volume of gold in each bag?
