We were told to write a personal essay describing ourselves as having "body/kinetic intelligence" but i have no idea what to do. first of all, i can't really grasp an understanding of body/kinetic intelligence. If you could give me a few topics about what to talk about that will be great. And maybe give me like the traits of a person who has body/kinetic intelligence. Thank you..

Some people argue that there are different types of intelligence ... one of them is kinetic intelligence (some others are environmental intelligence, musical intelligence, etc.). Kinetic intelligence has to do with your ability to control and use your body to the best of its ability.

Dancers are often thought of as having kinetic intelligence, because they have such control and discipline over all aspects of their bodies, and know exactly how to move them to get the desired results. Professional athletes could also be said to have kinetic intelligence. Some people, no matter how hard they train, will never be nowhere near good enough to become a professional dancer, or athlete. The limits of their physical abilities are said to be the limits of their kinetic intelligence (ie. you can only become as good as the natural abilities of your body will let you).

If I studied dancing in books and knew exactly how all the moves should go but get out on the dance floor and my body doesn't react to the music my body would lack the kinetic intelligence to dance. People who are said to have 2 left feet, or who are all thumbs, etc. lack body kinetic intelligence. It is the ability of the body to be able to do what the mind knows. If you know how to write, ride a bike, dance, repair things, climb a ladder, play a piano, draw a picture, paint a wall, make your bed etc. you have body kinetic intelligence. It is the body's ability to follow through what the mind conceives.
