the Dirty Birds are most definitely contenders if you don't think so you need your ******* head examined ,with who we got in the in the off season like Jerious Norwood,Grady Jackson,John Abraham, Lawyer Milloy,Wayne Gandy,Chris Crocker, and we still have Mike Vick, Warrick Dunn,Keith Brooking,Alge Crumpler,.and thats all I can remember at the top of my head but all that means we have excellent talent on both sides of the ball

The Falcons got to stop the run this season, they ranked 26th in the league against the run last season. Lawyer Milloy should help them a lot against the pass, which should allow the Linebackers to focus more on the run and he can help with stoping the run some.
John Abraham is going to help stop the run and will help the pass rush this year. Middle Linebacker Ed Hartwell should be back after missing most of last season by the 2ND or 3RD game, this will help them some.
Michael Vick could be a great Quarterback, but still hasn't shown it. Hes got to step it up this year. The coaches need to get on the same page with Michael Vick or he won't become what can be with this team or maybe ever. The running game will there like it was last season.
The NFC South is strong and they'll have to play hard and as a team to have any hope. I say they are pretenders.

I like the Falcons and would like to see them do well. But I think they are pretenders. Warrick Dunn is a terrific player and probably has a good year or two left. Michael Vick is a superb runner and mediocre thrower at QB. He has been injury-prone. He is exciting to watch and could certainly surprise. I think the Falcons are a solid team but not a contender.

contenders-only in their division. the bucs and the saints shouldnt do much of anything this year and if the falcons can keep up with the panthers they will be in the wild-card and division race at the end. if they do make the playoffs, dont expect them to get farther than the wild-card round

Could possibly be a wild card but I believe the Panthers will win the division.

Pretenders. And they always will with Mike Vick at QB. He's a turnover waiting to happen...

pretenders if they had a real quarterback like schaub if vick would just be a better pocket passer he would be good because he can throw far by a flick of the wrist but still
