Man pines for what he is not. This dictum characterises the basic nature of man. Herein also lies the source of all the diversity in the world. Had The First Monkey not been unhappy with his aurboral existence it would never have descended from the tree and indulged in the silly practice of walking on its hind legs when God had give him full four legs to walk upon. He must have fallen down, sustained injuries and also become a butt of ridicule of his compatriots. But he persisted in his march.Did he feel satisfied when he could walk and run upright? No fears. He now looked at the sky and felt envious of the flying fraternity.Right from improvised wings of some material and juming from height he resorted to all sorts of antics and at last succeeded with flying colours. But that was not the end of the road. He now wants to travel to the stars, a feat achieved only by mythical gods.He has partially succeeded in this mission also. This persistent inner compulsion drives him to the other shores of the ocean across the vast unfathomable ocean. This intrepid eagerness is inherent in man. The joker-like attempts of changing the colur of the hair and the of the eyes are but sideshows. The time may not be far off when,if he comes across God, in his flights of fancy he would want to ascend the celestial throne.
Bon voyage!

The desire for the opposite of what we have is our desire for completeness because nobody is born with it all. It is like you having a question and wanting answers - entirely natural. The examples you give, though, are more indicative of insecurity - i.e. that having such features will make one more attractive. Most people are happy with the way they are in that sense, no? ok, well I am!

I dont think its that we want opposite its just that we get bored of what we have and want something new. we were born with blonde and after so many years it gets plain so we wanna try something new. we didnt choose what we were born with. we have to find something that we like. somepeople like what they were born with and dont ever change a thing.

that is because ppl do not appreciate what they have in life n underestimate themselves....we say we aren't pretty, smart, slim enough....n all that we think we do not have n what we see in others....only when something like an accident happens than we realize that we r better of with what we have than what we wish we had...we should always accept what god has given us in life...hope this answers ur question!!

Low self-esteem. They think that "if only I had........... life would be perfect." Well, externals aren't as important as what's inside you. Learn to use that wisely and you will be happy.
