Would you continue to buy a product if you found the ad to be insulting and annoying?

I must agree. The TV commercials have gotten so bad. You really have no idea what they are advertising, who is advertising the commercial and the audience that they are trying to reach.

About 15 to 25+ years ago you remembered the advertisers and would sing their jingles and rush off to buy the products from the nearest store in your town.

Now the only thing I rush to do is to find my remote control to TURN THE CHANNEL.

If you can't find your remote your sitting there like...okay who is advertising this commercial? Why are they playing that horrible hip hop or Pop sounding music in the background? Why does every commercial show a skinny 1/2 naked bimbo looking women who the average American woman can't even relate to. Why are the men always 1/2 naked or have their shirts unbutton and chests out?

Are they selling sex or breakfast cereal?

This is the reason why people can't tell what's being advertised. TV commercials sucks. Thank God for remote controls and all the other shows on Cable TV.

The Ad Agencies of today need to be FIRED. Period.

The stupid tv commercials doesn't prevent me from buying a product if I'm using something that I believe does the "job" I'm buying it for. But I will add I hate a lot of the commercials now a days because they're so stupid

Insulting and stupid? Most are.

Buy the product? Only if it's the only one and I need it.

Favorite commercial. '1984' Apple commercial from Super Bowl. They paid for it once, and it's been on TV dozens of time.

Second Favorite. Herding Cats. Also a Super Bowl commercial.

Overall the standard of British Advertising on TV is quite good compared to some places in Europe (as seen on Tarrant on TV!) but I do agree there are some really crass adverts on. It doestn't deter me from buying the product though...if the product is good then I will buy it and I don't take too much notice of its advert, eg that Frosties Advert that everyone hates (me included) doesn't stop me eating Frosties but just makes me cringe when I see the ad.

It makes you wonder what the writers are directed to do. What educational level are they instructed to write at? There are a few products I would not buy because of their commercials, due either to their stupidity, their use of quilt tactics and/or their annoying actors, etc...

YES

They treat you like your a zombie, with no intelligence to know that when they say " we care about giving you a good service "

What they really mean is

We care about getting your money........

They think a smile off a handsome man, or pritty woman, will make us fall in love with there product, and go out and buy it.

I have some words to describe TV Ad's

Sneeky, Cheesy, Sinister, pshycologically intrusive, Presuming.

Sell me something i want, dont try to sell me a reason to want it...
Ad Men/Women have no place to be poking around in that part of my brain.

Rant over :)

you're absolutly right, they are insulting and stupid.
No, I won't buy a product that I find insulting and stupid. I believe if the commercial is garbage, so is the product.

Sometimes the most annoying are the ones you remember and keep telling others about. Whether I would buy their product is another thing.

Yes I do!!! Today's commercials are so "out there" half the time you don't even know what they're advertising! I don't buy anything that promotes sex or stupidity!
