How humorous is it that you ask about Kevin Millwood, even as he became actual an extremely good pitcher even as he became with the Atlanta Braves. He became between the pitchers who pushed the Braves to the international sequence in 1999. His stats that year were precise the following... IP: 228 W-L: 18-7 era: 2.sixty 8 SO: 205 WHIP: 0.996 now to not teach he complete in third position for the nationwide League CY youthful Award that year. it really is humorous purely how a lot gamers can replace to the point the position human beings ignore about them altogether. certainly, i do not understand what the deal is with choosing who receives the MVP and CY youthful Awards. there have been many gamers over the years who i concept were given robbed of that opprotunity. now to not teach that those awards were given to Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens way TOO frequently! even as it comes all the way down to it, I have got here across that the MLB provides those awards to who the followers favor to ensure receive the award. I believe you, it really is going to be depending soley upon wins, losses, and era, yet that obviously isn't the case once you've Tim Lincecum prevailing the CY youthful Award even as he in ordinary words had 15 wins very last year.

If Roger Clemens had pitched all season, I think he'd be running away with this award. Since he hasn't, here's how I would rank my top 3:

1) Brandon Webb - Eats innings, sits third in ERA, and has a pile of wins on a not-great team.

2) Carlos Zambrano - Had a rough start that has kept his ERA above 3.30, but another innings guy who also has good K numbers.

3) Chris Carpenter - Another fine season from a previous winner.
