If there are two words that invoke a deep reaction and response in people, they are the words Terrorist and Racist and they have been thrown around the forum of late with little regard for the true meaning of the words. It is simple ignorance from some.

I hadn't seen those comments! I thought the point was that Zidane head butted that idiot in the World Cup as he called Zidane's mother something insulting regarding terrorism (she is Algerian I believe).
Zidane is lovely!
What I am noticing on this site is more anti-Muslim questions (which should be ignored) and some genuine questions that some (possible) Muslims have suggested as being anti-Islamic when they seem quite good questions for this site.
It's a shame both ways that there is a current tide of bad feeling. I feel sorry for Muslim friends who are getting the suspicious glances when they themselves don't want to be blown up by any terrorist. We have forgotten that Muslims died in 9/11 and 7/7.
All terrorists are anti-religious.....and going back to your original question, should not be linked to sporting stars even in jest.

Yes, it is in terrible taste that people are still calling Zidane that. I think it's just ignorant people trying to vent their anger at the event that happened a month, almost two months ago. No, it certainly wasn't the best way to end his international playing carreer, but it happened and it's over. It's just a huge overreaction, that should have already passed.

well, some ppl just dont get it, and they think of anything just to insult someone. calling Zidane a terrorist because he is a Muslim is offensive towards all Muslims. Its wrong and it should not be done.

People that call Zidane a terrorist, are not on this forum because of football, but just to provoke Zidane(French) fans !!!!!!!!!
btw: It was nothing disgraceful about head-butt, we (ordinary people) will never know how much pressure do players have on that kind of game!!!!!!!!

He is an amazing player, & i think most people would have done exactly the same if someone had insulted their family & a relgion they feel strongly about.(i am not religious so that wouldn't have bothered me) there are still a lot of narrow minded idiots who think all muslims are terrorists and all terrorists are muslims

To call someone that is wrong in the sense of what a terrorist does. He is a soccer player, nothing close to a terrorist. Its wrong to call anyone that.

Only small minded and ignorant people call him a terrorist. What he did was wrong but that doesn't make him a terrorist...
