Many parts of Africa are near death. Some people say "Why not just let it die out?" The resources are nil. Then you have Bono of U2 who is just pure enthusiasm and the money from the Bill Gates Foundation to help aids. What is going to be the end result of all this help? I have to admit I am a bit ignorant on this subject. After the Rwanda massacre how can we really say we care about Africa? That could have been prevented.

I really feel for the rest of the world. I also think that we should take care of ourselves first. America has enough problems that I think we should figure out what to do with ourselves first. I also think that we should try and teach them, but only after the U.S. takes care of its citizens.

I guess it depends on whether you think the people of that region are worth helping. Our country seems to follow the notion that we will go to war to "help" those countries that have resources that we want, but we tend to turn a blind eye to the AIDS blight and genocide that is a daily way of life in many countries in Africa. Yes, we're sent troops to Africa (Black hawk Down), but we have not put in the sort of concentrated effort that we utilitized in Afghanistan and Iraq. Bush believed or was led to believe that Saddam was so bad the US couldn't allow him to stay in power another day! But dictatorship is rampant in Africa, and yet you hear nothing of efforts to remove those people from power. And to address your other question; Bono and Bill Gates are trying to do something! Any money raised or contributed towards AIDS education and prevention will no doubt save lives. We are civilized people and I honestly believe that we have a responsibility to each other. To allow Africa, beautiful continent that it is, to die out, is to commit a passive form of genocide on our part, because we do have the resources to gradually turn things around.

They say that giving money in poor countries is stealing money to poor people from rich countries to give the money to rich people of poor countries.
40 years giving money for nothing. This has to reformed, but the traditional method of giving more and more money is not right. Nobody helped the Asian tigers to be rich and developed but themselves.
Other example, Cuba was an average country for the 50's standards. The Soviet Union gave them billions and billions and now is one of the most poorest countries in the world.

Who made you God? I applaud Bono, Gates, and anyone who is attempting to alleviate some of the misery in Africa. You should see the movie "The Constant Gardner." Maybe you will then have some insight into just how serious th situation is over there. Remember, the hardest journey begins with one step. And BTW, you should learrn to spell!

hi Aaron 417 the following contained in the united kingdom I worked with Stanley who became from Nigeria. He became doing non everlasting artwork even as he became waiting for his Masters degree in Engineering. I placed the question of why a continent that became so wealthy in raw elements will be so impoverished. Stanley stated that the Europeans had made man made divides in Africa that decrease for the time of racial lines. So the dominant tribe contained in the artificially created international locations will protect their own tribal human beings even as the lesser tribes will flow with out. Nokwezi who became Zulu, became despatched to the united kingdom to artwork as she had fallen in love with Peter who became Khosha. They both attended a similar Christian Church yet they'd crossed a forbidden racial divide through falling in love. i do not understand what the answer is except for the tribes themselves to seem to a fashion ahead for equality of chance through preparation and celebrating their tribal variations yet accepting that we are all equivalent. Then we've the further corrupting impacts of different international powers leeching the organic elements of the continent even as they advantages a choose few, eg China taking the elements of Zimbabwe even as the section human beings starve. What are we doing to our powerful international? brilliant desires.

I think we should teach them how to take care of themselves instead of just pouring money into the continent, but I don't know what to do about these governments and rebels who are bent on killing each other off.
